Me, myself and I
Quickly about me:
I am: Free spirit who rarely fits in, who questions life and one that cannot understand the concept of ”Norm”, born in Finland 1982, living in Sweden, having a human experience on planet earth.
I do: Art, tattoos, hair, interesting projects and my wife!
I have: ADHD, Kids, ideas, questions, random talents, opinions and wisdom, hot wife, unique view on world.
I know: Me, How to solve problems, how to be creative and how things should be (at least from my perspective)
I Love: Acting on impulse, exploring and learning, inspiration as a guiding force, moments to be totally lazy, good humor, my people and simple but genius solutions.
Everything starts with a frame.
There are 3 main reasons why i paint on frames.
- ”Ready to hang” art. Buy, hang, enjoy. Simple and easy.
- I have an obsession to create something new from old stuff. So all my frames are recycled or self-built from something recycled.
- I do not like to stay inside the lines or frames or think inside the box or be put in a category. I like to flow over, live far away from comfortzones, expectations and norms, and to shake old ways of doing things.
After frames comes the themes.
I always paint a ”thing”, but i put a twist on the ”thing”. Whether the one ”thing” is an animal, household item, flower or a fruit, there is something that makes it ”different”. Like weird accessories, wrong color, odd background or just an attitude that usually is not there.
Last but not least comes my way of doing art.
I put a LOT in my art. But mainly i want my love for contrast to shine through. Black vs white. Gray vs bright colors. Realistic vs cartoon. Precise and well thought details vs unplanned intuitive paint splashes or brush strokes. Round vs square. Soft vs hard… these all drive my expression as an artist as they make things fun and playful.
I also love lines. I always have, always will. So there are a lot of lines in my art.
And finally, one of my biggest motives in art (and in life, love and raising children) is to break the rules. I have studied art for decades and i know ”all the rules”. And i choose to use this knowledge to do the opposite as often as i can. Often that irritates people who like rules, but i consider that as a part of my job, as art is supposed to make you feel things.
